Labeling and Staring mails are ways to organize your inbox in Gmail. However, when it comes to sent mails – one has to compose and send the mail before applying a label to it. Lately, Gmail introduced the Label as you send feature that overcomes the problem aforementioned. It makes your tracking for your sent mails much easy.
The new feature by Gmail allows you to apply a label using label drop-down menu, while you are writing a mail. You should note that it is for the manageability purpose only; receiver at the other end won’t see such labeling.

Follow these steps to apply a label(s) to the mail you are composing:
- Open Labels drop-down menu
- Select appropriate label(s) and then click Apply button located at the end of drop-down. You can create a new label if the desired label is not there in your labels list, by clicking Create new button from the Labels drop-down menu itself.
That’s all. Now, you can keep track on sent mails through these lovely labels!
