There are times, when you need to share your document that has used some fancy fonts or web fonts which are generally not installed on every computers. Sharing such documents can distort the whole layout at the other end, where fonts you used is not installed. However, you can fix this problem by embedding the fonts within your Microsoft Word Document.
Follow these steps to embed fonts in a Word Document.
- Open your document in which you want to embed the fonts.
- Click on the Office Button from the extreme top-left corner.
- It will open up a Word Options window. Click the Save tab and select the Embed fonts in the file option.
That's it. Now other people can see and use the fonts you used in the document even if they don't have installed the same on their PC.
Optionally, you can embed only those characters that are used in your document to reduce your document size. However, one should avoid to embed only characters used in the document option if the document is to be edited at the receiving end.
