Sometimes expressive text with some special characters is a good way to show your emotions, feelings, likes or dislikes instead full length wordings. Also When you are creating documents, you may need to use a special character in your text, such as a trademark (™) or degree (°) symbol.

Till the date you might be heading over the internet to find such special characters to use in your documents or in chats on social sites. If this is so, then you don't need to go anywhere else because all these special characters lie in your Windows OS itself!
Here's How:
- To open Character Map, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Character Map.
- In the Font menu select your choice of installed fonts.
- The grid shows all the available characters within your selected font. Click on any of them, it will give you a brief introduction about the selected character and will enlarge the character.
- Click on a character then hit Select button (or simply double click on the character) and it will be copied to the Characters to copy box.
- When you are done with the selection of character(s) hit the Copy button. It will copy the selected special character(s) to your clipboard.
- That's all! Simply paste those characters wherever you want.
It is advisable to create a desktop shortcut if you frequently need to use the special characters.☺
