Many of times, we come across some non-trusted websites with a lucrative offer. But, we don't feel safe to share our Debit Card number.

Virtual Debit Cards is a way to go for online shopping. Virtual Debit Card does not have any physical existence. They are temporary e-cards which can be created as and when required through your internet banking account. You can set your own credit limit and the bank will give you a new expiry date, CVV code (3 digit security code) and Debit card number for online transactions. It is good-for-nothing, once you make payment for your online shopping using such e-cards.

Many banks now offer such e-cards and can be created very easily. Following are links to the guideline by major Indian Banks that guides you on How to create Virtual Cards on their online banking portals.
Once you are done with creating a Virtual Card. You can proceed towards your online shopping website and complete your shopping and make the payment using the generated new Virtual Card. The amount will be deducted from your Virtual Card and the remaining balance will be credited back to primary account.

You might have question that, what will happen if I don't use the e-card after creating it? Will my amount will be credited back to my primary account? The answer is, YES! The amount will automatically credited back, after a designated period of time.

Happy Safe Banking. :)
